Opensuse 10.3 to Debian

Wow now I have been using Opensuse it was Suse9.3
After a mess opensuse made with a local x security bug this has made me wonder what else is out there.

Although Debian prob wasn't the most likely to impress me that much I was well impressed by the amount of packages Debian has.

After installing Debian on my laptop which used to run Opensuse It took me a while to get things working like WPA wireless networking but you are talking a few hours installed bluetooth wireless atheros chipset no problem wpa is now working.

Now it is a lot different to the way Opensuse does things as you can install/configure using Yast I found that apt-get a very easy way to install programs. :)

I am still only playing with it but I am liking what I see.

If you want to have a look at Debian yourself http://www.debian.org/ its a great little OS with big functionality.

Reasons why Opensuse pissed me off..

a local security bug 345131 This was in the Xserver
now not only did they not test the fix but they put the fix right out there and then if you read the results everyone started getting problems me I cant use VNC I cant use google earth and VLC player was also effected.
They have now put on the website for this bug as being fixed I can now use VLC but still have no VNC access and no google earth... https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=345131

Well i am going back to playing on my laptop need a nice cup of tea first then prob go and watch a bit of Joost :)
